• Warm water: many people are of the opinion that warm water alone is enough to clean a carpet thoroughly. Soap is considered to be harmful and a potential ingredient to damage the fiber of a carpet.

• Mixture of water and vinegar: some people prefer to use a mixture of water and vinegar to clean carpets. However, others have complained about the fact that vinegar leaves behind stains and affects the color of the carpet as well.

• Mixture of Sal Suds, water and vinegar. The solution has been experimented by many but people have not been happy with results. Apparently, it does not clean the carpet properly. A carpet needs to be cleaned twice with this mixture to get valuable results.

• Ammonia is another ingredient that is adviced by many people. It is said that it should be used in majority of the concentrates made at home for carpet cleaning.

• Simple Green: it is another formula that is considered to be cheap and works wonderfully well with carpet cleaning machines. Customers have used the product and found it to be useful in cleaning some of the toughest stains.

• Elbow Grease: it sounds a little awkward to use grease to clean a carpet. However, many people use the mixture of ammonia, water and elbow grease to get the stains out of the carpet.

• Using the mixture of dishwashing liquid, ammonia, vinegar and water.

• Tide laundry soup is another attractive solution for carpet cleaning.

• Usage of shampoos from a supermarket is also a great option for carpet cleaning.

• Club soda is another natural carpet cleaning solution that one can use, in order to avoid spending hugely on carpet cleaning chemicals and solutions.
